Artist Bio
David Salzgeber was born in Bludenz, Austria, in 1995 and currently resides in Tschagguns, Austria.
He is a distinguished painter, renowned for his remarkable expertise in oil painting on linen.
David has gained attention primarily for his spectacular Landscape paintings, which he creates solely from imagination. Building them up in thin layers of oil paint, applying the paint to the canvas in a recognizable fashion.
His Paintings evoke a feeling of timelessness and awe. Creating an atmosphere of stillness and hope in an ever-darkening world. His oeuvre centers on transcendent landscapes, that should convey a sense of eternity and make it graspable.
David’s artistic identity is characterized by a profound engagement with the themes of Life and Death, the Afterlife, Eternity and biblical narrative and Belief. His strong personal belief in God fuels his Work with symbolic depth and metaphorical analogies to biblical concepts.
Notable among his works is “Exodus 24:16” during which he honed his distinctive brushwork, making it recognizably his own.
David Salzgeber, is a promising painter that took his first steps into the art world in 2022 with his solo exhibition in Bludenz, Austria in an emptied building, which was a construction site at the moment, making for an interesting backdrop for his paintings.
His Membership in “Kunst Vorarlberg – Forum für aktuelle Kunst”, where he was accepted in 2022 led to two further exhibitions in the following year, getting positive press in notable local culture magazines and newspapers as well as garnering the attention and interest of many Lovers of Art.
He's currently dedicated to finishing his Series “Ode to God’s creation”, and already contemplating the coming project.
